Sydney Time Out Bar Awards

Do you read Time Out? If you do, you obviously like to know what’s happening in your city. If you don’t you probably live in Dandenong and have two kids, and if your lucky, Foxtel, and you probably series-link Cake Boss, which is a cool show, but you know, not as good as going out to bars and shit. Which brings me to the crux of today’s post.

It’s nearing the end of the Australian Bar Award season. There’s the AHA’s, this weeks ALIA’s (more to come), and the Bartender Magazine Bar Awards. The one that means the most perhaps is Time Out Magazine’s Sydney Bar Awards. These ones are important because they are decided by the people that matter most. The customers.

Time Out has a massive readership online and in print media. It can take your bar from boring to roaring with a single good review. People that read Time Out have their finger on the pulse. They want to know the new hip places opening, and where to get a great feed.

Next week on monday their Bar Awards are being held at the Standard in Taylor Square. I’m going to drink my face off and cheer on my buddies that are nominated. For anyone that cares, myself or the people I work for are not up for any awards. I’m looking forward to raising a glass for the guys in Sydney that are well and truly making this city a better place to drink in. The small bars that are rivaling Melbourne’s, and the bartenders that are making my drinks when I go out.

This is going to be an awesome night. If you’re not doing anything monday next week why not get yo’self a ticket and join me.
